WW2 Mystery will be exploring the evidence for UFOs from WWII to today as part of Sky History’s Summer of Secrets. The show has brought together new interviews and rare footage to present an unbiased look at the claims for and against alien sightings. Express.co.uk discussed the series and its evidence with director Nik Coleman and author Anna Whitty.

Starting on July 12, Sky History has been running the series event Summer of Secrets which is investigating some of the biggest riddles from history.

As a series of documentaries, the shows have been exploring strange tales, and historic conspiracies from around the world.

They have even used confidential information from high-ranking officials to present the evidence, both for and against the prospect of alien encounters.

It has even brought on board big names ranging from William Shatner, Uri Geller, and Lance Reddick to discuss some of its bizarre topics.

Express.co.uk had the opportunity to discuss the WW2 Mystery programme with director Nik Coleman and author Anna Whitty, who revealed some of the key details featured in the documentary.

“When some hardcore fast jet military pilot turns up and tells me he’s seen extraordinary things and he’s filmed them,” Pope explains, “at that point I’ll start to believe them.”

Coleman is referring to the footage which the Pentagon release back in April 2020 which appeared to show UFOs seen by USA fighter jets.

At the time, former United States President Donald Trump reacted to the footage, calling it a “hell of a video.”

Coleman continues: “Now that you’ve got these people who have everything to lose and are in charge of keeping us safe, when they start talking about it, you have to think something is going down.”

The documentary has also brought on board scientist David J Hall to pick through the evidence shown on the series and debunk some of its more out-there theories.

“I’d like to think that we are grounded because we have some fairly radical views in it and we have some fairly rational views,” Coleman continued.

“David will dissect each story and look at the components that could make it happen.

“We’re not trying to provide solutions, we are trying to lay down the evidence so that you can make your own judgment.”

Anna Whitty, author of UFOs: A Fundamental Truth added: “I think there’s a function, a psychological function to seeing things that don’t make any sense.

“People used to see Greek Gods and angels, fairies and so forth, all of these things have a very similar expression of arriving from the sky.

“All of these things are different mysteries, just seen through different cultures and experiences.”

The documentary begins at WWII and covers sightings from across the decades to the modern world.

Other parts of the Summer of Secrets include Curse of the Lost Amazon Gold, William Shatner Meets Ancient Aliens and Curse of Skinwalker Ranch season two.

WW2 Mystery is part of the Sky History Channel’s Summer of Secrets running throughout August.
