When is Betty White's funeral?

BETTY White was just weeks away from her 100th birthday when it was announced she tragically passed away on December 31, 2021.

Since the news first broke, many have come together to celebrate White's historic career, reflecting on all her achievements since her introduction to the entertainment industry in 1945.

When is Betty White's funeral?

On January 4, 2022, details surrounding White's upcoming funeral were announced by her agent.

While an exact date has yet to be revealed, White's agent, Jeff Witjas, told ET that arrangements “are being made” and that “they’ll probably be private.”

“Everything being done is being followed by her choices,” he told the media outlet.

“I’m not involved in that part, but she never sat with me and told me, ‘Jeff, when I pass, this is what I want.’ I didn’t want to go there a lot with Betty…I’m sure she had certain wishes, but I did not talk to her about that.”

While fans might not be able to attend in-person services, many have since left flowers at her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

White's 100th birthday celebration will also continue as planned with Betty White: A Celebration scheduled to hit movie theaters nationwide on January 17, 2022.

What was Betty White's cause of death?

As news of White's passing started to spread, so did rumors that her death was related to a Covid-19 booster shot, however, Witjas quickly shot these rumors down and revealed that she passed away due to natural causes.

PAST LOVES

Betty White's past marriages revealed – including third husband Allen Ludden

"I can absolutely, 100 percent say, Betty did not pass because of the booster, she did not pass because of Covid, she never had Covid," Witjas said.

"She passed, with my understanding, of natural causes. Being 99 years old, unfortunately, you know. But there was no outside disease. Betty was a healthy, healthy lady and for those who are trying to start a political conversation about vaccines with Betty White, don't. It's not true. Betty never had the booster, and that is really it. Period."

Adding: "…But she was basically healthy. I was over there at the house a number of times and we enjoyed playing gin rummy together. Now I will say, her mind was sharp, her mind was always sharp, and she ticked me off really because she beat me four times…Somebody who is in declining health wouldn't be able to play gin rummy, honestly, and especially beat me four times.

"And as I was leaving, she promised me a rematch. That's the only thing we're not going to have. But at least she knows, as I left, she beat me, because we had a very fun, competitive gin rummy game."

Where will she be buried?

At this time, it remains unclear where White will be buried, however, many believe it might be near Madison, Wisconsin, with her late husband, Allen Ludden.

Ludden, who passed away in 1981 from stomach cancer, was White's third and final husband and he is buried at Graceland Cemetery in Mineral Point.

Following Ludden's tragic passing, White never remarried and instead focused on her love of animals.
