The Truth About Miranda Cosgrove And Nathan Kress’ Relationship

Nickelodeon has entertained the childhoods of many with shows like “Zoey 101,” “Drake & Josh,” “Victorious,” and “iCarly.” The network has also turned actors like Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, and Miranda Cosgrove into stars. Cosgrove, particularly, stole the hearts of many viewers when she played Carly Shay in “iCarly,” a show about two teen best friends who run their own web show together while getting into shenanigans with their other friends. Jerry Trainor, Jennette McCurdy, and Nathan Kress also starred on the show. Per IMDb, “iCarly” was Nickelodeon’s longest-running series, airing from 2007 to 2012.

Although “iCarly” ended nearly a decade ago, the show’s popularity throughout the years has earned it a reboot, which is set for streaming on June 15 on Paramount Plus, per Romper. The outlet states that Cosgrove, Kress, and Trainor will all be reprising their roles in the reboot. Given that Cosgrove and Kress’ characters became romantically involved at the end of the show’s original run, fans have wondered if the real-life actors are as close in real life. Luckily, we’ve got the scoop on their relationship for you below.

Miranda Cosgrove and Nathan Kress are great friends

While fans of “iCarly” ship Miranda Cosgrove’s Carly Shay and Nathan Kress’ Freddie Benson together, the actors are not romantically involved in real life. They are, however, great friends and have grown up on set together. Cosgrove was invited to Kress’ wedding in November 2015, which McCurdy and Trainor also attended. Cosgrove marked the occasion with a simple heart emoji on Instagram, showing love to Kress on his big day.

As it turns out, Cosgrove and Kress’ bond is so strong that they try to meet up in person with their other cast members at least once per year. Following tradition, the duo reunited a year after Kress’ wedding and documented their reunion on Instagram. “The semi bi-annual ‘iCarly’ ‘Where Are We Now?’ conference was last night,” Kress joked on Instagram in September 2016. “Love these people.”

Although Cosgrove and Kress rarely publicly comment on their friendship, they’ve shown great admiration for each other on social media throughout the years and are excited about bringing “iCarly” back to the small screen again. “I’ve been having a really good time kind of revisiting [the reboot], just because I’m hanging out with a lot of my old castmates that I spent so much of my childhood with,” Cosgrove told Complex in June.
