The Pursuit of Love is the highly-anticipated drama series coming to BBC One this Spring. When is The Pursuit of Love out?

After more than one year of waiting, The Pursuit of Love is finally here.

The three-part series will premiere on Sunday, May 9 on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.

All three episodes will drop in one go on Sunday which means you can binge-watch the series in one go via the BBC iPlayer.

The BBC iPlayer app also has a download option which means you can watch episodes of The Pursuit of Love offline.

To watch The Pursuit of Love, you must have a TV licence.

Viewers outside of the UK will be able to watch the series via Amazon Prime Video at a later date.

Who stars in The Pursuit of Love?

Lily James and Emily Beecham lead the cast of The Pursuit of Love.

James plays the role of Linda Radlett and Beecham stars as her cousin and best friend, Fanny Logan.

Viewers will most likely recognise James from her role as Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Her other credits include Baby Diver, The Dig and War and Downtown Abbey.

Beecham is best known for playing Diedre in the Coen Brothers film Hail Ceasar!

She is also well known for playing Daphne in the film of the same name and The Widow in Into the Badlands.

Emily Mortimer not only wrote the series but also stars as Fanny’s mother.

The Affair’s Dominic West stars as Uncle Matthew, Linda’s father in The Pursuit of Love.

He stars opposite Dracula’s Dolly Wells who plays Linda’s mother, Aunt Sadie.

Fleabag’s Andrew Scott stars as Linda’s eccentric neighbour, Lord Merlin.

Assaad Bouab, Shazad Latif and Freddie Fox also star in The Pursuit of Love.

What is The Pursuit of Love about?

The Pursuit of Love is set in post-war Britain and follows the story of two young women looking for love.

Linda and Fanny are not only cousins but best friends and have been inseparable their entire lives.

However as they fall in and out of love, their lives take entirely different paths.

The official synopsis for the series reads: “1920s, Oxfordshire. On the brink of adulthood, Linda Radlett and her beloved cousin Fanny Logan are stuck in the countryside, impatiently waiting for life to begin so they can escape the confines of Alconleigh.

“Linda, who has lived her life under the terrifying regime of Uncle Matthew, dreams of excitement and adventure.

“But Fanny, abandoned by her mother and raised by her Aunt Emily, is more concerned with comfort and stability.

“When their glamorous neighbour Lord Merlin brings Tony Kroesig to their coming out ball, Linda falls hopelessly in love with him.

“However, sensing Fanny’s disapproval of the match, it’s not long before Linda pushes Fanny away and leaves her beloved cousin feeling left behind.”

Yes, there is a trailer for The Pursuit of Love on BBC One.

The official BBC One Twitter account shared the trailer on April 23, 2021, with the caption: “Every woman has a duty (to please herself). The Pursuit of Love / Streaming from 9 May / BBC iPlayer”

The trailer introduces viewers to Linda and Fanny and the many men they meet on their search for love.

Fans immediately began sharing their excitement for the series online after the trailer was released.
