The Chase viewers seriously distracted by contestant's appearance – but can you spot why?

THE Chase viewers were left seriously distracted after mistaking one of the contestants for a famous comedian.

Monday evening's episode of the ITV quiz show saw Mhairi, Fatai, Rozina and Terry join forces to take on one of the country's finest brains – but one of them soon stole the show.

They each took on Paul Sinha for a chance to make it back as a team to compete in the final to win a life-changing sum of money.

Terry was the final contestant to take on Paul and, when asked what he did for a job, he revealed to host Bradley Walsh he was recently retired and has since taken up birdwatching.

During his cash builder round, Terry managed to bank £5,000 and soon faced The Sinnerman at the table where he received his offers.

However, viewers became distracted as Terry reminded them of comedian Bill Oddie – also a keen birdwatcher – with many taking to Twitter to air their thoughts.

Alongside an emoji of a shocked face, one person penned: "Bird watching? He is Bill Oddie!"

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "I wondered where Bill Oddie had gone…"

While a third remarked: "Not only does he look like Bill Oddie, he sounds like him, too."

It's not the first time that a contestant has been likened to a famous face.

Just last month, fans of the show were left open-mouthed after a contestant bore striking similarities to a rather famous Netflix star.

As the quiz continued, viewers were quickly distracted by Laura's appearance.

With her spectacles and perfectly styled hair on show, fans of the show were soon in unison that Laura looked like Anna Delvey from Inventing Anna.

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV.
