Tess Daly shares excitement ahead of Strictly Come Dancing ‘first’

Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly has shared her excitement ahead of this week’s live semi-final, as the show will be hosted on Sunday for the first time in its 18 year history.

Dance lovers around the country typically tune in to the show on a Saturday evening, but thanks to this year’s FIFA World Cup, the schedule has had to move in order to accommodate the airing of matches.

Thanks to this change, the 2022 semi-final of the popular dance show will now be taking place on Sunday December 11th, with the results being revealed one day later on Monday December 12th.

Ahead of the change, Tess took to Instagram on Saturday as she made her way towards rehearsals for the upcoming show.

Dressed in a chic cornflower blue coat and blue skull printed scarf for the occasion, the blonde beauty flashed a pink glossed smile as she shared a selfie from the backseat of her ride towards the studios where Strictly was being filmed.

Alongside the image, Tess captioned the post: “Off to rehearsal’s, because for the first time ever…we’re going live on Sunday night!”

With just five couples left to compete and the glitter ball trophy now firmly in sight, the stakes are higher than ever for this week’s show.

Last week, fans were forced to wave goodbye to Kym Marsh and Graziano di Prima, after they failed to impress the judges during the dreaded dance off.

That leaves just Molly Rainford, Will Mellor, Fleur East, Helen Skelton and Hamza Yassin in the running to lift the Glitterball this year.

While there’s still everything to dance for, the bookies favourite to win is Hamza, at 8/13 according to bookmaker Betway who since day one has continued to improve week after week with partner Jowita Przystal.

Relatively unknown to many fans before his time on the show, the wildlife cameraman has quickly won the hearts of many viewers at home, for his continued efforts and infectious enjoyment for every dance he has performed.

Hot on his heels however, is Helen Skelton, who is the second favourite to win at 11/8, followed by Will at 20/1 , Molly at 50/1 and finally Fleur with odds of just 80/1.

Will the bookies prediction be proven right? Or will the glitter ball find a new home with one of the other stars? Viewers will have to tune in to find out!

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Sunday 11th December at 7:15pm on BBC One, with the results show airing on Monday 12th December at 8:15pm.
