During Wednesday night’s The One Show, BBC hosts Alex Jones and Amol Rajan revealed the first three celebrities taking part in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing. McFly star Tom Fletcher was the first big name to be announced, shortly followed by comedian Robert Webb. However, during the interview, it didn’t take Alex and Gethin long to bring up Robert’s former dancing experience. The star won Let’s Dance for Comic Relief in 2009.

“It’s exciting but at the same time quivering terror,” the comedian admitted to the hosts when asked about how he was feeling.

Following Robert’s reveal, a number of fans referred to his stint on Let’s Dance for Comic Relief as a taste of what’s to come.

“Oooooh he could be an early contender to win this, his Flash Dance performance on Comic Relief was unbelievable. #Strictly,” said one fan on Twitter.

“He’s got to dance to Flashdance,” a second commented, while a third added: “Watched ‘Flashdance’ you were brilliant. Good luck Rob, enjoy the journey! #Keepdancing.”

And a fourth tweeted: “Another brilliant Choice, welcome Robert to the wonderful Strictly family. “
