The arrival of mysterious B&B guest Johnny (Tom Roberts) was always going to spell trouble for Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) in Coronation Street and fans were shocked to learn a dark secret from the landlord’s past – that he was involved in an armed robbery and left an injured security guard to die.
Johnny can’t bear the thought of wife Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) knowing the truth about this dark secret and so Scott has him exactly where he wants him – and has put pressure on him to help him steal from businessman Ray Crosby (Mark Frost) in a new robbery in which Johnny would act as the getaway driver.
Scott talks Johnny through his plan to rob Ray and his mates. Johnny’s sick with worry. Presuming it to be his MS Jenny books them a few days in the Lakes to rest. Scott menacingly orders Johnny to get out of it but this arouses Jenny’s suspicions further.
Johnny feels terrible as he lets Jenny down. Scott reminds him that if he doesn’t play ball, he’ll tell Jenny how he was once involved in a robbery and left a man to die.
As the plan comes together, it’s almost time for Johnny to go through with something that could land him in prison – but he knows that defying Scott would come with its own consequences.
He has a big decision to make as crossing Ray is not really a good idea either. While all this is going on, Ray is working with Gary Windass (Mikey North) to get locals to sell up their properties as he tries to take over the Street.
With everyone planning criminal plots for their own gain, someone is bound to get hurt.
And as Scott and Johnny enter the fray, tragedy could be about to follow. Is Jenny about to lose everything?
