Spider makes a huge confession to Toyah over racism scandal in Corrie

Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) has allowed Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) to believe that he’s part of a racist, extremist gang in Coronation Street.

While Spider is sort of part of the group, we know he doesn’t share the same views as them as he’s actually working as an undercover police officer, befriending the likes of Griff (Michael Condron) and Reece to eventually destroy them.

Doing this has impacted Spider’s reputation a lot. Returning to Weatherfield, Spider was still seen as the eco-warrior who was passionate about changing the environment and attending protests.

However, because he’s been seen agreeing with Griff’s comments about people from overseas not belonging in the UK, Spider has lost connections with many people on the cobbles – including Toyah.

But could that all change soon?

As Max (Paddy Bever) packs his bags for the camping trip Griff has organised, an uneasy Spider distracts himself by digging into the identify of Griff’s financial backer.

When Max returns home, it becomes apparent the time away didn’t end as he expected and later in the week, he’s convinced by Griff to lie to the police about what happened.

While this is happening, Spider is in the flat, praying Toyah will keep quiet – but what has he confessed?

Has he told Toyah the truth about why he’s part of the gang?
