Residents of Walford recently discovered that EastEnders legend Dot (June Brown) had died, after Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) received a phone call announcing the news.
Since then, she has taken on the task of planning the funeral, hoping to give Dot the send-off she deserves.
In tonight’s episode, Sonia caught up with Sharon (Letitia Dean), who asked what flowers she had chosen for the event.
Sonia’s choice was a very heartfelt and personal one, with an important meaning to Dot.
She had chosen white roses and agapanthus; the flowers Dot had had in her bouquet when she married Jim.
No, we’re not crying, we promise.
Dot’s funeral is set to be a big celebration of her life, attended by many Albert Square residents of the past and present.
It has already been announced that the funeral episode itself will be a special extended episode, with a run time of 37 minutes, an extra 10 minutes compared to a normal EastEnders episode.
The funeral will air on December 12 and will pay tribute to the soap’s most iconic character.
EastEnders continues Thursday December 8 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
