Real Housewives of Jersey trailer lifts lid on champagne-flinging women on 'judgey' island as reality show comes to ITV

A FIRST look at the brand-new series of the Real Housewives of Jersey has confirmed that it's certainly not one to miss.

If it’s as dramatic as the rest of the franchise, there will be plenty of fights, drama and tears as we follow the glamorous ladies around town.

The 10-part series, which is set to hit our screens on Monday 28 December, will follow the lives of seven glamorous ladies located in what the producers describe as a "combination of St Tropez and St Ives, with everything from tranquil beaches to glitzy parties".

Hedi Green, Jane Rayner, Margaret Thompson, Kate Taylor, Tessa Hartmann, Mia Ledbury, Ashley Cairney will star in the new series which has been filmed on the well-known Channel Island.

The new trailer has given a glimpse of what to expect when it premieres in a couple of week's time on ITVBe and luckily for viewers it will also be able to binge-watch on ITV Hub this month too.

With a range of beautiful scenic shots of around the island, the ladies relaxing by swimming pools, attending parties, travelling on private jets and enjoying photoshoots, it certainly seems like they are all living their best lives.

Giving an insight into what it's like to live there in the opening credits, Kate Taylor explained that "you always know somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody who has heard of you," while another described it as a "very judgey place".

Tessa Hartmann, 50, who describes herself as the "Kris Jenner of Jersey" and who is mum to singer Tallia Storm, 22, told the camera: "I'm a no-nonsense straight-talking kind of girl and if you cross me you will not forget me."

But of course, without fail, the footage teases a huge amount of drama between the cast, with many of the housewives storming off in a huff during a number of heated discussions.

One scene in particular sees Jane Rayner throw a glass of champagne over her co-star Ashley Cairney.

Speaking out about the new show, Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels at ITV, said: "I'm thrilled to be welcoming to ITVBe and the ITV Hub an amazing cast of strong, aspirational women in the latest instalment of the successful Real Housewives franchise.

"This time, the island of Jersey delivers the amazing backdrop for the real-life stories that will unfold over ten, wonderfully bingeable episodes. Grab the popcorn."

Executive producer Mike Swindells added: "Having spent an incredible summer embracing all that the beautiful island of Jersey offers, we can't wait to introduce the world to this magnificent location and our raft of exceptional new Housewives.

"As viewers would expect, the lives of The Real Housewives of Jersey are as complicated as ever, but the opportunity to devour the series immediately on the ITV Hub, means viewers won't have to wait long to follow the twists and turns of their lavish lives."

Back in August it was revealed that the cast were filming for the show at the Lido at Havre Des Pas show after they were seen walking around in glam cocktail dresses.

Then last week the official cast was announced after the show's official Twitter page shared the promo shot of the line-up.

The show will serve as ITVBe's Real Housewives of Cheshire's "sister series" and promises to live up to expectations.

Paul Mortimer added: "Having become one of ITVBe's biggest hits, The Real Housewives of Cheshire will soon have a sister show under the ITVBe umbrella.

"The Real Housewives of Jersey promises an equally fabulous cast in another aspirational location.

"We're thrilled to welcome these ladies into the ITVBe family and know our audience will look forward to getting to know each of them over the course of their debut series."

Catch the Real Housewives of Jersey on 28 December on ITVBe or binge-watch the whole series on the same day on ITV Hub.
