Piers Morgan was grumpy on Good Morning Britain after an issue with his microphone made him late to the show. He was caught arriving late as new weatherman Des finished his weather report early due to a technical error but Piers wasn’t very sympathetic and clashed with the newcomer.
“Sorry everybody, a little bit late today,” Piers said at the beginning of today’s show as he frantically tried to fix his appearance.
“Putting the old mic pack in, not really what you want to see at 6.30 in the morning is it?”
Susanna quickly chipped in: “Well, what a wonderful start to the programme.”
But, Piers turned on Des as he said: “It’s not my fault!

“What’s the name of the new weather guy? Des, where is he?” the host added.
Susanna was quick to say: “It’s not Des’ fault, either!
“Morning Des, it’s lovely to meet you.”
“Rule one mate, Des – you don’t end early,” Piers warned the new member of the team.
“There was an angled shot that completely froze,” Susanna said. “There was nothing he could do.”
Piers pushed on: “I suddenly heard, ‘The weather guy’s ended early.’
“I was like, ‘What?! Why’s he done that? Just keep talking about the weather!’”
Susanna added: “I have to say, Piers, do not blame the weather presenter, it’s his first day.”

“Why? It’s his fault,” Piers explained.
“It is not his fault,” Susanna interrupted. “The camera shot froze, which meant…”
Whilst all this was happening Des could be seen on camera laughing at Piers and Susanna.
“Susanna, I love you,” Des declared, “Piers, it’s my first day and you can’t even cut a young guy, a good-looking guy, a break.
“What’s wrong with you?” Des added.
Piers continued: “So far, all I’ve heard you say is that you’re good-looking.
“One, stop talking. I’ve now heard you talking twice in the first half-hour and all you’ve done is call yourself good-looking, youthful, fresh-faced.
“People that go on about how good-looking they tend to be people who talk too much.”
Good Morning Britain airs on ITV weekdays at 6am.
