The stars behind Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and Dougal Mackenzie (Graham McTavish) reunited away from the set of Outlander last year for their very own travel series, Men In Kilts. Fans of Starz’s hit historical drama also ate up the co-stars’ journey across Scotland, and the pair have sent a heartfelt thank you to each other on Instagram.

Sam and Graham have thanked each other and Men In Kilts’ fans after the series won big at this year’s American Reality TV Awards.

The first season of their documentary project won Best Docu-Series, Best Feel Good Show and Best Lifestyle Show at Thursday night’s ceremony.

Season one followed the two Outlander regulars as they explored their Scottish heritage across some majestic and iconic locations.

A second season was confirmed later last year and will feature the actors’ travels across New Zealand to discover its links to Scotland.

Men In Kilts’ follow-up will be even more eagerly anticipated now the series has become a major award winner, and the stars have shared their stunned reactions in a new Instagram post.

In Sam’s new video, Graham said: “Thank you, thank you so much for this wonderful award from the American Reality Television Awards.

“It’s a great honour,” to which Sam replied: “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”

“It’s truly incredible,” Graham went on. “And what’s even more incredible is that we’re actually in separate rooms in the same building.”

“We’re obviously being kept apart to decompress,” Sam said. And Graham joked: “Basically to restore my sanity.”

After quipping Graham should try to keep the noise down, Sam added: “Honestly, we had a great time around Scotland, celebrating everything Scottish.

“A huge thank you to the crew, all the fans that voted for us. And I guess… Thank you, Graham?

“This may be the only time I say it, but thank you, Graham.”

Graham said a bashful thank you back to his co-star, to which Sam once again demanded he keeps the noise down.

In his caption, Sam added: “Incredibly proud of our wee show from Scotland! 3 awards last night at @realityawardstv !!!

“Thanks to the whole crew @starz @sptv and of course the fans!”

And Graham posted on his page: “So proud of our show winning three American Reality TV Awards, and of the wonderful team at Sony, Starz and Boardwalk who helped bring it to life.

“It’s funny what can happen from a conversation in your kitchen!” (sic)

Fans can expect plenty more of their bickering soon, as the second season of Men In Kilts has finished filming and is expected to be released in the next few months.

Plus, Graham will also be returning to one of his most iconic roles, as a surprise announcement confirmed Dougal Mackenzie will be back in Outlander season seven.
