Season six of Outlander is due to arrive on screens at the start of 2022, and fans are eager to see where Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) are headed next. Some intriguing details were recently revealed during a recent panel with Diana Gabaldon and the Starz series’ cast.

Heughan swiftly changed the subject when a discussion during New York’s 2021 Comic Con veered dangerously close to spoiler territory.

Starz’ smash hit Outlander previewed the upcoming sixth season at the convention, with Heughan, Balfe, Lauren Lyle, Cesar Domboy, and John Bell all in attendance.

Producer Maril Davis and author of the original novels Diana Gabaldon also shed some light on the new season.

However, Davis nearly let slip some crucial details regarding Jamie and Claire’s daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton).

The panel host inquired: “Did I hear something about a well being built?”

Outlander’s Fraser’s Ridge set is kept under lock and key during production, but some key details clearly managed to slip through the cracks.

Heughan helped the producer out by moving the conversation on, but not before confirming what could be a major part of Bree’s upcoming storyline.

“She designs the well, I think,” the Scottish star confirmed. “That’s a spoiler!”

Davis also skirted around the topic, adding: “Yes, that’s why I was like, ‘what, what?’”

The leading man and producer avoided revealing anymore, but there was a clear indication the new well could be of great importance in the coming episodes.

Heughan eluded any further prompts, adding mysteriously: “There’s no well.”

Davis also chimed in: “We don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Heughan then joked: “It goes down and brings up whiskey.”

Thankfully, the panel of guests wasn’t quite so tight-lipped throughout the rest of the event.

Davis was also able to share some exciting details of Brianna’s developing role in season six as she and husband Roger (Richard Rankin) accept their place on the Ridge.

She explained: “[Bree]’s got an engineering background, and it’s like how can she make that work in this time and give herself a purpose.”

“She’s a mother and that is a purpose, but she also wants something a little more for herself.

“So we’re going to see that journey for both of them this season.”

Now permanently stranded with their parents in the 18th Century, Bree may finally be able to put her modern know-how to good use on Fraser’s Ridge.

Luckily, fans only have to wait a few more months to find out whether or not the well in question actually exists.

Outlander season 6 premieres in early 2022 on Starz.
