Netflix fans ‘scared to close eyes’ after watching The Haunting of Bly Manor

Netflix may have only just dropped its new horror series, The Haunting of Bly Manor, but many thrill seekers have already binged all nine episodes.

Fans have rushed to Twitter to share their positive reviews on the creepy second instalment in The Haunting anthology and confessed they're "scared to close their eyes" after watching it.

The creepy show, which stars Victoria Pedretti and Rahul Kohli, is the new series set in the UK in the 1980s and is loosely based on the 1898 horror film The Turn of the Screw.

A follow up series to The Haunting of Hill House, it seems it's terrified viewers just as much as the first one did.

The story tells of a young American governess hired by a man called Henry Wingrave to look after his niece and nephew at the family country house after they fall into his care.

Arriving at the Bly estate to care for the children with the estate’s chef Owen, groundskeeper Jamie and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose, they begin to see apparitions that haunt the premises.

After binging the show, fans rushed to their personal Twitter accounts to share their thoughts.

One wrote: "If you ain’t watching the haunting of bly manor through squinted eyes and the cracks of your fingers, lose my number and @. Psychopath."

A second tweeted: "The haunting of bly manor is perfectly splendid."

"I'm watching the haunting of bly manor and i forgot rahul kohli was in it so now i have to watch it without covering my eyes when the scary parts are showing," said another.

One viewer commented: "Binge watching The Haunting of Bly Manor! Its sooooo good!!!"

It won't be a shock to many horror fans that the series is being dubbed a successful after the first instalment went down in books as the best horror series of modern times by critics.

The Haunting of Hill House featured 10 episodes on what the family endured while growing up in the haunted manor.

The plot saw the Crain family and their five children forced out of their house by paranormal activity, only for the grown-up children to return 26 years later to face their demons.
