The latest season of crime procedural NCIS began airing back in November.

The show was delayed by the impact of coronavirus Covid-19 but fans were excited to see it return.

Since then, the series has followed Leroy Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) and Tobias Fornell (Joe Spano) as they hunt down some opioid dealers.

The series also featured a special 400th episode which took viewers back in time to when Gibbs and Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard first met.

The latest outing was called Blood and Treasure and followed the storylines of Gibbs and Fornell closing in on their targets while the team also investigated a crime.

Fans are already excited to see how this will continue in the rest of the season.

However, NCIS will not be coming back in its usual Tuesday evening time-slot anytime soon.

Instead, the show has begun its winter break over the festive period – here’s all you need to know about this.

NCIS season 18, episode four will be released on CBS on January 5.

This will air again in its usual Tuesday evening slot on the show.

When it drops, fans will be able to watch it live on the channel.

Soon after broadcasting, it will also be available on the streaming platform CBS All Access.

What will happen in NCIS season 18, episode 4?

Ahead of airing on CBS, not much has been revealed about season 18, episode four.

One of the few things teased is it will be called Sunburn.

However, this is expected to still be set in the backdated time frame of the series.
As fans will know, the show has been airing in the timeframe of the season 17 episode Musical Chairs.

During this outing, Gibbs disappeared for most of the episode before returning with a black eye.

Showrunner Frank Cardea revealed how they will continue to explore this in an interview with CarterMatt earlier this year.

He explained: “The first five episodes take place in the period of [‘Musical Chairs’].

“Episode six wraps that up, and episode seven will bring us up to a post-COVID world.”

There are several other things which are hoped to be tied up later this season as well.

This includes the cliffhanger about why Gibbs shot Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) in the season premiere.

The show will also address Jack Sloane’s (Maria Bello) exit from the show as she has only signed on for eight episodes.
