MILLIE Bobby Brown revealed she was rejected by Game of Thrones was ready to quit acting before landing a role on Stranger Things.
During an appearance on The Jimmy Fallon Show last week, Millie, 16, opened up on how the iconic Eleven character was close to being played by someone else.
She revealed: "This industry is just full of rejection, 24/7. You get far more nos – a lot of nos – before you get a yes.
"I was auditioning for commercials, for anything, really. I then auditioned for Game of Thrones and I got a 'no' for that. Then that's kind of when I was like, 'Oh, this is really difficult,' because I guess I really wanted that role."
After missing out on the highly successful HBO series, Millie would soon secure a role on a show called Monotauk, which would later be known as the incredibly popular Stranger Things.
Millie shared: "Two months later, they just got back to us and was like 'We'd love to Skype with you'. I Skyped with them and, you know, the rest is history, of course."
The teen added: "We then named the show Stranger Things, but Montauk was definitely the one that gave me that kind of hope of doing it all again."
Millie's most recent project is the mystery film Enola Holmes, which was released on Netflix last month and she played Enola, the sister of famous detective Sherlock Holmes.
But viewers were left baffled by Millie Bobby Brown's 'fake-sounding' British accent.
There is a possibility that many fans believed she is American thanks to her role and accent as Eleven in Stranger Things.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "MBB's accent in Enola Holmes almost sounds fake after watching Stranger Things."
Another tweeted: "Trying very hard to enjoy Enola Holmes but Millie Bobby Brown's English accent is driving me mad."
While a third added: "Enola Holmes review: very wholesome, very lovely, mbb sounds like she’s faking her accent, hbc is a perfect angel and Fiona shaw was a nice surprise :-)."
While Millie uses an American accent as Eleven in the hit Netflix series, she is actually British and spent some of her childhood living in Bournemouth before moving to Florida.
