Meghan Markle shared a series of text messages she had sent to her father upon the discovery he would not be attending her wedding with Prince Harry.

In the Harry and Meghan documentary, episode three detailed the days leading up to the highly-publicised Royal Wedding.

Meghan recalled the moment a story was going to come out about her father Thomas staging photos for the press and taking money ahead of the big day.

She said she called her father and told him they would get him out of the house immediately, but he said “no, I have things to do”.

She said: “It felt really cagey, I was like, it doesn’t make sense. And when we hung up I looked at H and I was like ‘I don’t know why but I don’t believe him’.”

Meghan then shared some of the text messages she sent her father, when he told her he was back in hospital just five days before the wedding.

Her text response was: “I’ve been reaching out to you all weekend but you’re not taking any of our calls or replying to any texts…

“Do you need help?…What hospital are you at?”

When Thomas did not reply, she responded again with: “Please please call us as soon as you can… all of this is incredibly concerning but your health is most important.”

To the cameras, Meghan recalled how the “world was watching this drama play out”.
