Love Island first look teases explosive Casa Amor recoupling as villa rocked by ‘twist’

The final moments of Wednesday’s episode of Love Island hinted at the dreaded mass recoupling as Maya Jama arrived in the South African villa.

At the start of the week, twelve new bombshells entered the villa, and the original female contestants were whisked away to Casa Amor, where they were joined by Frankie Davey, Kain Reed, Ryan Weekley, Maxwell Samuda, Bayley Mummery, and Martin Akinola.

Soon enough, the lads were introduced to new girls, Sanam Harrinan, Lynda Flix, Layla Al-Momani, Sammy James, Lydia Karakyriakou and Cynthia Otseh-Taiwo.

In the teaser for Thursday's episode, Maya Jama entered the villa in a sensational red number that flashed skin and wowed fans online.

The video then switched to show the contestants gathered around the fire in their slightly more dressed-up attire, with Tom Clare looking particularly disgruntled.

There were lots of huffs and puffs as the teaser continued, which ended when the door opened, Maya’s jaw hit the floor.

TikToker Will Young was then seen covering his face after seeing a door open. Who could be on the other side?

News of the recoupling initially broke earlier this week when a source suggested that four contestants were sent home, though that number later changed to six.

Another source told The Sun that it’s actually nine contestants, as they explained: "Reuniting the two villas was explosive – the recoupling will be a real shock.

"The tension was off the scale – viewers will be really surprised as to who choses who. It's an unmissable episode."

Reacting to the tease, one fan wrote on Twitter: “Well… This year's movie night and Recoupling Are going to be absolute blood baths, These girls are topping the boys and im here for it.”

“I am living for the drama this recoupling is gonna bring tomorrow,” another said, with a third adding: “This is going to be the most messiest recoupling since Amber and Michael’s season.”

Someone else added: “Shaq will be getting a redemption arc after the recoupling and I fully support him.”

In the leadup to the recoupling, numerous couples previously thought of as strong seemingly hit the rocks.

Former Michelle Keegan body double Olivia Hawkins, who is currently coupled up with Kai Fagan, seemingly forgot his name and later kissed bombshell Maxwell.

But don’t worry about Kai, who also mistook a bombshell for an old friend, because the Manchester-based PE teacher soon shared a lengthy kissing session with Sanam on the terrace.

After fans lost their minds over Will Young’s kiss with Lydia, with his girlfriend, Jessie Wynter staying faithful in Casa Amor, he admitted: "Honestly? A little bit guilty. It was really nice in the moment, the chat was really nice, the kiss was nice, really good kisser!"
