Law & Order: Organized Crime wrapped its first season on June 2, 2021. The latest Law & Order spin-off series brought back Elliot Stabler (played by Christopher Meloni), but he was joined by some new talent. Tamara Taylor joined the cast as Angela Wheatley, but who is the star?
Who is Tamara Taylor?
Tamara Taylor featured heavily in season one of Law & Order: Organized Crime as Angela Wheatley.
Wheatley was instrumental in investigating the case of Stabler’s wife immediately suspects foul play.
The pair became close throughout season one, with Wheatley even buying groceries for Stabler and his son, Eli (Nicky Torcia).
However, it is later revealed Wheatley was the one that organised the murder of Kathy, Stabler’s wife, which results in an intense finale.
She also told Stabler the reason she killed Kathy (Isabel Gillies) was that she believed Stabler shot her son Rafiq dead in an anti-drug operation.
She wanted him to suffer for what he did instead of killing him.
Star Tamara Taylor, 50, has starred in near 50 different projects across her career, appearing in some massively popular television shows.
Recently she starred in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as Sibyl and before that could be seen in October Faction and Altered Carbon.
Most fans will recognise her from Bones where she played the role of Camille Saroyan from 2006 to 2017.
Taylor recently spoke to The Wrap about her character and fan’s reactions to the big reveal at the end of season one.
She explained: “I felt very, very welcomed into the Law & Order universe. [The fans] seem to be very, very angry at Angela, many of them.
“But they’ve made a clear distinction that they’re not angry at me, the actor.
“They’re just a little pissed with Angela because she’s getting in the way of a relationship that they’ve been rooting for, for 22 years.” (sic)
NBC has wasted no time in renewing the series for a second season with the show returning in winter 2021.
Speaking to Deadline, Christopher Miloni said of Stabler in the show moving forward that he’s “in a place that he’s never found himself before.”
The star continued: “He’s always been assured of walking on terra firma, and now, everything is shifting beneath his feet, and I just think he is overwhelmed, and confusing comfort, succor, affection, for love.
“I think he is lost in that world, and we’re going to see where it comes out, but he has a lot to unpack.”
The Law & Order Twitter account recently shared a scene from the series which showed Wheatley admitting to her crimes.
Fans rushed to the comments to share their feelings about Wheatley and the show moving forward.
One fan said: “Wheatley is definitely my favourite baddy. Please for the love of God, Give us what we’ve been waiting on for 22 years! E&O finally admitting their true feelings, and finally exploring a romantic relationship!”
Another added: “I have never felt more alive than I did while watching this live.”
