Killing Eve fans in stitches over hilarious reference to BBC’s Pointless

Viewers of Killing Eve were left in stitches tonight over a hilarious reference to BBC show, Pointless.

It came as the head of MI5, Carolyn Martens (played by Fiona Shaw) was sitting at her dinner table talking to Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) and her son Kenny Stowton (Sean Delaney).

Clearly wanting to have a serious conversation with Eve about her recent antics as she continues to search for Villanelle (Jodie Comer), Carolyn hinted at her son to leave the room.

However, she did so in true comedic manner.

Turning to Kenny with a very serious expression, she said: “Will you make sure that Pointless is recording, Kenny?”

Carolyn then proceeded to berate Eve for her recent behaviour.

She told her: “I don’t normally get angry Eve, it makes me feel sleepy. But Never ever go behind my back again.

“You are by no means the only person I work with but you take up a disproportionate amount of my time. And my time is very valuable to me.”

She cheekily added: “I have hobbies. Do you understand that, Eve?”

The amusing reference didn’t go amiss with viewers at home, who flocked to Twitter to share their joy.

One user wrote: “Will you make sure Pointless is recorded, Kenny? Carolyn’s got her priorities right!”

A second chimed: “The pointless reference was brilliant! Love it.”

While a third fan added: “Imagine being so upset you can’t bring yourself to watch Pointless.”

And a final viewer said: “Carolyn is just the best, we all love a bit of Pointless.”

Killing Eve returns to BBC One next Saturday at 9:15pm.
