Kanye West 'to perform to semi-empty Miami stadium' for Donda 2 despite thousands of unsold $200 seats & vacant sections
KANYE West's Donda 2 concert may not be such a hot ticket.
Thousands of $200 tickets remained unsold at the "semi-empty" Miami stadium and entire sections appeared vacant with just hours to go.
Kanye, 44, is set to perform his Donda 2 Experience at 8 P.M. ET on February 22 at LoanDepot Park, home to the Miami Marlins.
He was earlier spotted arriving in Miami ahead of his listening party the night before, and with the stage being set, quite literally, things appeared all-systems go.
But on Ticketmaster, DONDA was looking disapointing the day of.
The stadium holds 36,742 people – though thousands of those are unusable because of the directionality of a concert – and around 3000 seats appeared to be available two hours ahead of showtime, with full sections empty and thousands more up for resale.
Donda 2 is the follow-up album to his 2021 project, Donda, named after his late mother, which the rapper first announced on Instagram earlier this month, captioning his post: "2-22-22."
Tickets became available starting at around $145 and soared to $950 – but ahead of showtime, some were available at prices as low as $45.
