Josie Gibson red-faced as Dermot says ‘I’m not cheating on my wife’ after mix-up

This Morning's Josie Gibson has been left red-faced after her co-host Dermot O'Leary told her that he wasn't cheating on his wife after she got confused.

On Friday's programme, the two presenters chatted with a few Loose Women stars about what is coming up on the next ITV show.

Kaye Adams lead Friday's itinerary and explained that the panel would be debating whether it is okay for couples to go halves on the cost of an engagement ring.

To which Judi Love chimed in to say: "No, no, no."

Kaye then joked: "So Dermot, she doesn't want a cheap ring," hinting at the flirty banter Dermot and Judi have on-screen.

Dermot then replied: "I got it, it's in, come on – does that look like a cheap ring to you? No no no, all about the love you know that."

A shocked Josie asked her co-star: "Are you cheating?"

Looking baffled, Dermot then snapped back and said: "I'm not cheating on my wife with Judi Love, we just love to laugh."

Josie then awkwardly laughed and said: "I wasn't accusing you of cheating on your wife, I was accusing you of cheating on me and Alison."

Dermot then relaxed and said: "Oh I see! In that case yes I am."

This Morning host Alison Hammond did not star on her usual daytime programme spot and was missing from the presenting lineup.

This comes after fans noticed that Alison Hammond was missing and wasn't sitting in her regular spot next to Dermot.

Instead, her pal Josie Gibson replaced her and presented the programme.

When the show opened, the ex-Big Brother star said: "I'm here!"

Dermot then replied and said: "I know you are, Alison is having a day off.

"What have you done with her, Josie?"

Josie then explained: "Alison did say I could cover her today, but only if I get her a really nice birthday present."

Viewers speculated that this could be due to the presenter taking some time out after an emotional day on Thursday.

Alison had taken to social media on Thursday to pay tribute to her beloved mum on the two year anniversary of her death.

The presenter shared a photo of her mum on her Twitter account and captioned it: "Two years ago today" followed by a heartbroken emoji.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
