Jasmine Armfield age and career including EastEnders role as Bex Fowler

It’s fair to say that things haven’t been too good for EastEnders’ Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) in recent weeks.

The character’s been battling with pill addiction as she struggles to cope with the pressure of exams, while battling with ongoing grief over Shakil and her unrequited feelings for Kush (Davood Ghadami) – which she took a step too far on Monday night.

Now she’s heading out of the Square and is set to go missing (but don’t worry, it’s not the last we’ve seen of her) – the latest development in a strong storyline for Jasmine, who plays Bex.

We know plenty about her character – but what do we know about the actress herself?

We’ve got all the information you need.

How old is Jasmine Armfield and where is she from?

Jasmine, who is 20, was born on 17 December 1998 in Southend. Essex.

She honed her acting craft at the Pauline Quirke Academy for the Performing Arts in Wickford – and as well as acting is also a singer and guitarist.

EastEnders is Jasmine’s debut acting role, with her joining the series as Bex Fowler, daughter of Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) and Martin (James Bye)  in January 2014.

She’s been involved in such storylines as being bullied at school by Alexandra D’Costa and Madison Drake, as well as for her relationship with Shakil, whose death she has been struggling to deal with.

What has she said about playing Bex?

Jasmine revealed her enthusiasm for her storylines to last year – saying how she hoped Bex’s decisions over her education and future might help others.

‘Finding the storylines that are relatable and that young kids can relate to is so important,’ she told last year.

‘A lot of kids don’t know whether to go to university or stay at home.  That is a real struggle. So it is great and I think some kids will definitely find it helpful.’

Who is Jasmine Armfield’s boyfriend?

Jasmine’s romantic life is a lot less complicated than Bex’s – away from Albert Square she’s dating YouTube star Romell Henry.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays on BBC One at 8pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
