Loose Women presenter Charlene White welcomed James Jordan and Ola Jordan onto the show today to talk about their daughter Ella's first birthday.

Things quickly got emotional as the subject of James' dad Allan got brought up, with both James and Ola both getting teary.

The pair talked about the difficulties they had faced with raising baby Ella during the pandemic, as well as James not being able to spend a lot of time with his ill dad.

Allan was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer last year.

On the show, Jane Moore asked: "James, you’ve had a tough time as well with your dad Allan, haven’t you?"

James replied: "Yes, horrendous. Last year my dad got diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour. He’s currently back in hospital, really, really not very well."

Pausing to hold back his tears, James added: "It's really upsetting," as he hid his face in his hands to cry live on air.

Ola then took over for James, but also appeared to be emotional as they discussed their hardships with the presenters.

James later added: "It's been the most horrendous time in our lives, for us it is frustrating.

"I would have loved not to be in lockdown and been taking my dad to amazing places and spending some real quality time with him.

He trailed off as he said: "But my dad is the strongest person I've ever met…"

Ola chipped in: "My mum and dad are in Poland, they still haven't met Ella … it is really difficult.

"For people to say how tough it is to be home, the worse thing is [not being able to visit ill relatives in hospital]."

James added: "We’ve all got to do what we’ve got to do.

"My dad is such a positive person and so strong in his mind and his opinion is yes we have to stay at home, it’s an annoyance, it’s frustrating but we have to do it to protect everyone else."

"That is why we’re staying at home to protect our children, our families, our friends,” he continued.

"It could be a lot worse, you could have someone who’s dying of cancer or there’s people out there burying their children.

"You’ve got to put it in perspective. There are people going through much worse, we’ve got to crack on."

Later, James took to social media to discuss the interview, saying: "Well that was the hardest TV interview I’ve ever done.

"I said I wouldn’t cry no matter what and then I saw the picture of my dad come up on the screen.

"Sorry if we came across a bit miserable."
