I’m A Celeb’s Jessica Plummer’s life – co-star romance to unearthed blonde snaps

I'm A Celebrity fans can't wait until they find out who will be heading into the castle this year, but one of the stars of the 2020 series, Jessica Plummer, has had quite the life.

From featuring in a girl band to a hard-hitting role in EastEnders, Jessica has been working hard for years.

Stunning Jessica, 28, was the sixth person to be eliminated from the show, alongside singer Russell Watson on December 1, 2020.

She started well in camp, but within hours was in tears because she missed her little girl.

Jessica is mum to Noa, who she shares with her now-ex, a former childhood sweetheart called Jaz.

I'm A Celebrity

Jessica said she struggled to readapt to life outside of the camp after she was evicted alongside Russell.

Even simple things like the school run and making lunch became a chore for the star.

She told Digital Spy: "Oh my goodness, I kept losing my phone everywhere because I wasn't used to having it. I completely forgot how to do the school run. I dropped my daughter off to school 45 minutes early the first day!"

If that sounds extreme after two weeks in the castle, Jessica was quick to point out she was away for longer thanks to Covid: "You've got to remember it wasn't just the castle – I was in lockdown two weeks prior to that as well. So it was over a month's worth of being out of reality and then playing catch-up."

EastEnders

Talented Jessica was recognised most from her hard-hitting role in EastEnders before I'm A Celeb.

She starred as Chantelle Atkins, joining the soap in March 2019.

Jessica featured in a domestic abuse storyline with onscreen husband Gray Atkins, and viewers were left in tears over her character's tragic exit from the popular series.

Her character was later murdered by Gray, to reflect the rates of domestic violence during the pandemic.

Jessica said her character's death wasn't planned from the start, and was thrilled when the scenes landed her a Bafta nomination for Must See Moment, however she lost out to Diversity.

Despite not winning, Jessica was happy just to be nominated and for the storyline to be raising awareness, and she showered Diversity and other nominees and winners with praise.

Jessica also said she didn't realise the role would have such an impact on fans.

Neon Jungle

Before acting, Jessica also sang in a girl band called Neon Jungle.

The group was made up of four members, Jessica, Shereen Cutkelvin, Amira McCarthy, and Asami Zdrenka.

They got together after auditioning for the band, forming in 2013, but it was all over by 2015.

They released a debut album, Welcome to the Jungle.

The band had three notable singles, includong Braveheart, Trouble and Louder.

Braveheart made it into the Top Ten on the charts

Co-Star Romance

Jessica was happily single when she entered the I'm A Celeb camp but opened up about the fact she could be open to romance in the castle.

It didn't happen at the time, but she has since been spotted cosying up to one of her co-stars at an event in August.

Another former EastEnder, Ben Hardy appeared in the square too, and it's claimed they became close after working on a new BBC drama series together where they star as a couple.

It's called The Girl Before and EastEnders fans spotted the couple at singer Jade Bird’s London gig.

Ben played Ian Beale's son Peter, and the pair have been liking each other's pictures on Instagram too.

Blonde ambition

Fans were stunned when throwback snaps of Jessica sporting platinum blonde locks were unearthed from 2014.

She looked very different from her current beautiful brunette curls, as she posed with the bleach-blonde straightened hair-do for pics on her social media.

The singer-turned-actress posed in a white vest top with a lilac shirt over the top, and looked beautiful with barely-there make-up.

In another she looked relaxed, posing on a bed with a teddy bear in shot.

Fans are more used to glossy darker hair on Jessica, and couldn’t believe the peroxide straight style was her.

Fortunately it didn’t last for long, and by the time she joined EastEnders and I’m A Celebrity she was back to her natural look that fans love.

Stripped back

Jessica is a big fan of keeping fit and is rightly proud of her stunning figure, and often posts pics in swimwear and fitness gear on her social media.

She posted a series of snaps in stunning one-piece colourful swimsuits, and a black and white bikini as she posed up a storm with a friend.

Jessica captioned one of them "an Indian summer" as she soaked up the sun.

One fans raved: "Absolutely outrageous, check you out," with a heart eyes emoji.

"Yes queen, you are glowing!" added another with fire emojis.

"What a stunning lady and lovely photo!" praised one fan.
