Michael McIntyre’s, The Wheel sees three members of the public and seven celebrities try to win a life-changing sum of money. On Saturday night’s episode, contestant Godwin walked away with a staggering £92,000 after stealing the money from contestant Natasha. After he won the prize money, he gave a heartfelt thank you and revealed what he would be spending the money on.

After choosing to go with former Bake Off star Liam Charles to double his money, Godwin answered the final question on gold correct and won himself £92,000.

He stood up out of his seat and thanked each celebrity for their help and input of him winning the money.

Speaking on how he felt, Godwin said: “This is huge, this is huge. I can’t believe this, oh my God. First of all, I am super, super grateful to be here.

“I came to this country as an immigrant, you know my parents were really poor when we came here, and I’ve really grafted hard in my life to get where I am at today.

“To just take the leap and apply and do this was a bit of a, you know, let’s have a bit of fun but to get this far, and I know there are thousands of people who would love to be here means a lot.

“And for that, I am grateful, alone, but to win this amount of money, that’s huge and thank you to everyone who has helped.

“Man, God bless you guys, this is so surreal, I can’t explain it,” he exclaimed.

Michael went on to ask: “How is your mum going to react to this?” to which Godwin explained: “I’m not telling her.

“Only joking, honestly she is going to go through the roof, she’s a key worker, now I have won, she can kick back a little bit.

“Have some early years of retirement and just have a good life.”

Viewers of the show took to Twitter to express their happiness for Godwin and congratulate him.

Godwin was the first contestant to be brought up to the wheel, to which Michael joked: “You have win in your name!

“I feel like I have to call you Godwin, I don’t dare to shorten it!”

Explaining why he was on the show and what he would do with the money, Godwin explained: “100 percent I would be helping mum pay off her mortgage because it’s just me and her.

“The rest of it I will put into the business and hopefully grow it into something a little bit bigger.”
