How Geordie Shore stars overcame drug binges, bankruptcy, assault charges and being kicked off a flight

THEY were known for their boozy bar fights and explosive rows on Geordie Shore – but some of the stars of the MTV show hit rock bottom away from filming too.

From 'drugs' storms and arrests to drunken antics and bankruptcy, they have been caught up in some major scandals over the years.

Now Scotty T, 32, is the latest to find himself in hot water, after being banned from running a business by the government after taking £147,000 from his failed company's account to fund his party lifestyle.

It comes after he battled drugs over the years – something he has always been very open about. But he's not the first star to see his name in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Here we look at how many of his co-stars reached rock bottom then turned their lives round to enjoy major success…

Holly Hagan's 'powder scandal'

She had her fair share of embarrassing footage air during her time on Geordie Shore, but Holly Hagan, 28, was caught up in her worst moment shortly after quitting the show for the first time in 2016.

Holly was often seen in explosive fights with her ex, Kyle, trashing the house and rowing in bars before announcing she was leaving in 2016.

The following year, she was thrown into the centre of the spotlight when she was pictured appearing to sniff a mystery white substance, during a break in Marbella.

Since then, she has completely changed her life and focused on her relationship with footballer partner Jacob Blyth – who she's now engaged to.

She has also branched out with new career opportunities alongside her appearance in spin-off series, Geordie Shore OGs – with fashion shoots, a beauty range, work as a nutrition coach and also becoming an ambassador of anti-bullying charity Ditch The Label.

Gaz Beadle's 'drugs' storm

Holly’s former co-star Gaz Beadle, 32, was at the centre of a drugs storm himself, after he was caught appearing to snort white powder off a Ferrari key.

The footage, said to have been taken in a Manchester hotel after a night out with pals, surfaced in January 2016.

He said shortly after: "The video is from two years ago… But it may have spoiled my chances to appear on Strictly, which I wanted to do."

Just months after the clip emerged, he was embroiled in another scandal after he appeared to admit taking drugs during a conversation with a pal.

Direct messages allegedly sent by Gaz on Twitter, which were obtained by the Daily Star, appeared to show him boasting about hitting the town in Thailand and referencing “gear md”.

This followed years of womanising during the series, but he quit the show in 2017 and has since transformed his personal life.

Gaz is now settled down with partner Emma McVey and their kids, Chester, three, and one-year-old Primrose.

And he's had huge work success too, having made an estimated £4.6 million with his property development work, ownership of Pure Nightclub in Zante, a successful clothing range and a series of TV appearances.

Chantelle Connelly's GBH charge and bankruptcy

She was one of the most fiery stars on Geordie Shore, and Chantelle Connelly continued her outrageous behaviour in the months after quitting the show in 2016.

The 30-year-old was fined £3,205 and sentenced to 200 hours unpaid work in 2017 for punching a woman during a boozy brawl in Newcastle in October the year before.

She allegedly repeatedly asked victim Lauren Alexander if she had “gone with” her ex Tommy Sayers during the attack in Newcastle.

Connelly denied GBH without intent, but was later found guilty.

And a year after the sentencing, she was once again in the headlines after being declared bankrupt. Her solicitor claimed at the time that firms stopped working with the former reality star because of the court case.

However, like her co-stars, she's almost unrecognisable now after focusing on turning her life round – doting on her son, Ricardo.

She's also been sharing endless bikini snaps on social media as she models clothing lines and advertises luxury breaks abroad, focusing on work away from TV.

Steph Snowdon kicked off EasyJet flight

Stephanie Snowdon only enjoyed a short stint on Geordie Shore before being 'axed' in 2018 after one series, for lying about having unfinished business with co-star Aaron Chalmers.

The news came just a month after her birthday party was shut down by police in Newcastle.

But the reality star's antics hit rockbottom last year when she was barred from an EasyJet flight to Malaga for being too drunk.

Stephanie shared a picture of herself on the plane before she was escorted off.

She told her followers: “I can’t believe I’ve been barred from Easyjet for having a good time.”

In a series of now deleted videos, the reality star was seen slurring her words as she ranted: “She just took our passports off us saying no good on this flight.”

She went on to say she was told she was too drunk, before adding: “Can’t believe been escorted off the plane.”

But since then, Stephanie has kept more of a low profile and focused on her modelling work.

Her page is now filled with glam snaps of her modelling different clothing lines, while her bio states she's signed with LSA Model Management.

Charlotte Crosby's drink driving arrest

As one of the original Geordie Shore stars, Charlotte Crosby saw her drunken antics and late-night romps air on TV for years.

But her biggest shame came in 2016, shortly before she quit the show for good, when she was banned from getting behind the wheel for three years after being convicted of drink-driving.

She pleaded guilty and later issued a gushing apology, saying: “It was a very stupid and reckless thing to do. I’ve let myself down. It won’t happen again.”

It came after she was also banned from driving for 18 months in 2012 too.

Ever since, however, Charlotte has focused on building up a very successful career and putting the difficult times behind her.

She has released a successful autobiography, Me, Me, Me, incredibly popular fitness DVDs, and has a huge clothing range with In the Style – as well as several TV shows.

And following her on-off romance with Gaz, she has happily settled down with boyfriend Liam Beaumont – as well as renovating her huge mansion and sharing the before and after snaps on Instagram.

Sophie Kasaei's race row

Sophie Kasaei saw her time on Geordie Shore cut short initially in 2013 after she was caught at the centre of a race storm – having allegedly made a racist remark on camera.

However, having taken time away from the limelight, she returned to the show in 2016 briefly, before appearing in the OG series.

She quit that last year, however, and has since been largely focusing on social media work, as well as fashion work with Off The Rails boutique and House of SHB.

In October last year she opened up about the start of her time on Geordie Shore, alongside a before and after photo on Instagram showing her weight loss for World Mental Health Day.

She wrote: "On the left I was unhappy, unhappy with my body my mentality wasn’t good, constant negative thoughts , putting myself down, hating who I was and in a dark place.

"Fulfilling my depression with late nights, partying, food and negativity. I find it hard to talk about that dark place as it brings bad sadness and low vibrations.

"For me I found strength from within speaking to my friends , family about my thoughts , not putting a front on and hiding. We now live in a world where it’s ok not to be ok.

"The girl on the right is me now, I feel strong, independent , Iv (sic) learned by my mistakes my mentality towards life has changed whenever I feel myself going into a dark place I no who I can talk to and I no everything will always be ok."

It Shore looks like the only way is up for these stars.
