Hollyoaks star Imran Adams will leave the Channel 4 soap later this year.
The actor — who portrays Mitchell Deveraux — is leaving the serial drama, and will seemingly depart just weeks after his character is due to tie the knot with fiancé Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams).
A spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘Imran Adams will be leaving Hollyoaks later this year at the end of his current contract’
Imran joined the cast of Hollyoaks in February 2019, and during that time he’s featured in multiple huge storylines.
From struggling with his sexuality, to discovering that he has a secret brother and sister in Toby and Celeste Faroe (Bobby Gordon and Andrea Ali) — and of course his loving relationship with Scott — the character has become an incredibly prominent character.
The Channel 4 soap is currently on a hiatus after the Covid-19 pandemic forced the programme to shut down production.
Episodes completed prior to the shut down were rationed out in an effort to ensure it remained on the air, but the final pre-lockdown episode aired July 21.
Imran’s character Mitchell was at the centre of the hiatus’ cliffhanger, as his grandfather Walter (Trevor A Toussaint) attempted to put a stop to his wedding to Scott — and it will seemingly be this narrative that will take centre stage when the soap returns in Autumn.
Imran’s departure follows that of Rachel Adedeji, who quit the soap earlier this year amid the racism row.
