Channel 4 viewers were rather distracted during an episode of First Dates at Christmas, after a dater's teeth diverted their attention.

The love matching programme had fans glued to their screens on Tuesday night (December 27) as a number of people entered the restaurant hoping to find a potential partner.

Hoping to find luck on the show was 23-year-old portrait artist Charlie who previously "proposed" to five girls in the past.

But although Charlie's story made for compelling viewing, fans watching at home appeared to be distracted by his dazzling white teeth.

Taking to Twitter, side-tracked fans aired their views.

One social media user penned: "Have turned all lights off as his teeth are bright enough on their own."

Another wrote: "Watching #FirstDates and can't stop looking at that guys veneers. Cute couple though."

A third said: "His teeth are really distracting!"

Meanwhile a fourth added: "There is the white of tooth enamel. The white of cotton sheets. The white of snow. Followed by bright white light. Then there's the blinding white of the cosmetically enamelled teeth of some of the dates on #FirstDates."

Although Charlie's teeth became a hot topic on Twitter, he appeared to find luck on the dating show as he hit off with 23-year-old jeweller Phoebe.
