Matthew Morrison was reportedly fired from So You Think You Can Dance after texts left a contestant on the show "uncomfortable", reports have claimed.
The former Glee star, 43, left the show a little over a week after the dance competition had started, with him revealing his departure was because he had failed to follow "competition production protocols."
A source has attempted to give insight into his statement as they claimed he was sacked due to inappropriate texts.
The insider told PEOPLE that: "[Michael] had an inappropriate relationship with a female contestant."
They said: "They didn't have sex, but he reached out to her through flirty direct messages on social media.
"She felt uncomfortable with his line of comments and went to producers, who then got Fox involved. He was fired after they did their own investigation."
In a statement released by the star when the news of his departure first broke, Matthew said: "Having the opportunity to be a judge on So You Think You Can Dance was an incredible honour for me.
"Therefore, it is my deepest regret to inform you that I will be leaving the show.

"After filming the audition rounds for the show and completing the selection of the 12 finalists, I did not follow competition production protocols, preventing me from being able to judge the competition fairly.
"I cannot apologise enough to all involved and I will be watching alongside you all on what I know will be one of the best seasons yet."
Matthew was part of an all-new judging panel on the show, which also included JoJo Siwa and Stephen "tWitch" Boss.
He is expected to appear in some episodes until his replacement is found this month as the show's upcoming episodes were already pre-recorded.
Reports suggest his replacement will first be seen on the show when the next stage of filming gets underway.
