Emmerdale village was rocked by the news Al Chapman (played by Michael Wildman) had been shot during a showdown with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) last week. Cain was arrested but ITV viewers learned on Friday evening it was his son Kyle (Huey Quinn) who pulled the trigger. In coming episodes, Cain will make a decision which will change his family’s lives forever.
In flashback scenes set to air on Monday night, viewers will see the moment Kyle was responsible for Al’s death.
Kyle and Cain will relive the painful moments as they confess what really happened to a horrified Moira (Natalie J Robb).
Moira is distressed and breaks down when Cain argues he will do everything he can to protect Kyle, even if it means going to prison.
Cain watches as the woman he loves struggles with his devastating decision to put their marriage on the line.
Fighting back the tears, Moira agrees the truth is worse than the lie and goes along with Cain’s plan.
The village hard man feels helpless as Moira struggles to keep it together.
He is left uncertain whether he will be able to count on his wife to keep this massive secret.
But it’s not just Moira he has to worry about as Kyle’s mum Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) will also learn the truth about what happened.
Will Amy also agree to go along with Cain’s plan or will she make Kyle confess to what he did?
Speaking about the storyline, Moira star Natalie commented: “Moira is shocked to the core by Cain’s confession.
“I think deep down she knew something wasn’t quite right but she had no idea that Kyle had been involved in the shooting.”
She added: “I think the audience will really sympathise with Moira’s dilemma.
“She will do everything she can to keep her family together, Kyle may not be hers by blood but she sees him as her own.
“She has a lot of extremely difficult decisions to make.”
“This is a fascinating story to play as there are so many twists and turns that will cause a ripple effect to other characters in the village that are not yet aware of the true circumstances.
“Moira, as a mother and a wife, has such a turbulent time ahead which is great as an actress to get stuck into.”
Elsewhere in the village, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) carries out her mother Faith’s (Sally Dexter) final wishes.
She announces to the rest of the family she’s finally dropped Faith’s ashes off at the factory to become a firework.
Will the family all gather together one last time to say goodbye to Faith before Cain is locked up?
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm.
