Emmerdale looks set for explosive scenes as exes Mandy Dingle and Paddy Kirk fall into bed together as they take a trip down memory lane in upcoming episodes.
Viewers will recall that Paddy has been struggling since he discovered wife, Chas Dingle, had been having an affair with Al Chapman, who was later killed by Kyle Winchester, and had even contemplated leaving her husband.
And now new spoilers, dubbed "deceit in the Dales", have revealed that old passions are reawakened between former couple Mandy and Paddy.
Soap watchers will recall that Paddy and Mandy used to be married on the ITV soap after tying the knot in 1999 but their relationship didn't last very long.
The new spoilers reveal: "Feeling incredibly lonely after finding out about his wife Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) affair with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman), Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) could be forgiven when he finds himself falling into the arms of his ex-wife Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).
"Paddy opens up to Mandy, but as they take a trip down memory lane, old passions are reawakened and they soon find themselves falling into bed together.
"Will this instant need for gratification and company help Paddy, or will he find himself spiralling into an even deeper depression?"
And that's not the only drama to rock the village as the ITV soap has teased further: "Blackmail threats, cruel deception, and forbidden, secret liaisons are about to send shockwaves through the Emmerdale village.
"And some of the residents are about to find out that their actions can have serious consequences."
It comes as Lisa Riley confirmed in December that her character Mandy Dingle was set to be part of a new "enormous" storyline.
Speaking to Inside Soap, she said: "The whole nation wants to see Mandy and Paddy together. But it's soap, as you know, and we will keep this carrot dangling for a long time."
Lisa added: "What I can tell you is I have an enormous storyline coming which starts in February – you can't see my dining room table for scripts right now."
Teasing further details, she continued: "I'd even go as far as to say that it's probably my favourite storyline since I've come back to Emmerdale. It's going to be incredible."
Emmerdale continues weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX.
