Next week, the Emmerdale newcomer opens up to Leyla Cavanagh about her past – and it could bring her a lot of trouble.
Martelle Edinborough seemed to appear out of nowhere in Yorkshire as she missed being run over by Vanessa Woodfield, in March, 2022.
Since she took her first steps in the eponymous village, ITV viewers have been curious to know all about her character, Suzy Merton.
In scenes due to air on our screens next week, they'll get another glimpse of just how harrowing her past may have been, after finding out she has a bad drug habit
It all begins when the newbie inspires Moira Barton (portrayed by Natalie J. Robb) by suggesting she hires out her barns for weddings.

Unbeknownst to Suzy, she asks Moira about using the field where her daughter Holly is buried.
But when Leyla Cavanagh (played by Roxy Shahidi) points to a picture of Holly, Suzy is dumbstruck to recognise her.
Leyla is confused when a clearly unsettled Suzy bolts from Moira's home after repeatedly staring at Holly's photo.
She eventually finds Suzy in the café as she surreptitiously browses through an online remembrance page for Holly Barton.

The jig is up for Suzy as she admits to Leyla that she knew Holly – prompting her to open up even further.
Holly was the oldest daughter of Moira and John Barton and was found dead following a friend's wedding on September 29, 2016.
The character succumbed to an overdose of heroin as she battled a drug addiction during her years in the village.
Her fight was hard and, despite a recovery, she was unable to overcome her demons.
Following her death, her family and former boyfriend Aaron Dingle dug for answers, wanting to know who supplied Holly.
Many villagers were accused of giving her the drugs, including Emmerdale businessman Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) with whom Holly had a secret relationship.
The answers never came while Moira still struggles to deal with her daughter's death.
