Television schedules have had a major shake-up tonight, as ITV is not airing its usual Thursday night double bill of Emmerdale at 7pm and 8pm.
Instead, in this time slot, ITV will be airing the England v Montenegro match as part of its Live International Football coverage.
The soap will resume tomorrow (Friday) at its usual time slot of 7pm – though soap fans aren’t necessarily missing out.
Emmerdale often chucks in an extra episode on Tuesday, or just runs for an hour until 8pm to make up for missed episodes – or when there’s a particularly dramatic storyline going on.

However, that doesn’t mean fans of the soap aren’t annoyed, and they’ve taken to Twitter to share their feelings.
Last night, Emmerdale pointed out on Twitter that there were no episodes tonight, and one fan responded with a string of angry faces.
Another raged: “Ah football, how dare it replace Emmerdale?”
A third said: “How dare there be no episodes tomorrow?”
Someone else moaned: “Once again Emmerdale’s double episode replaced by football,” adding an angry emoji.
And a fifth viewer wrote: “Horror! No Emmerdale tomorrow! Football.”
This week has been a big week for the soap and for Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in particular, as she was dumped by fiancée Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and her son was kidnapped by crooks.

In last night’s episode, Charity cut ties with best friend Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) as she sided with her son Aaron (Danny Miller), as he was part of the reason, alongside Cain (Jeff Hordley), that Noah got kidnapped.
She went to try and speak to Vanessa and get some sympathy, however Vanessa was still having none of it and showed there was no chance of a reunion – for now, at least.
