Dancing on Ice star Rachel Stevens says she’s ‘slowly getting hang of skating’

S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens has announced that she's gradually getting used to ice-skating as she gears up for the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice.

The singer shared a post on Instagram to her 249k followers and showed a throwback snap of her in a more done up outfit than what she's been donned in for her past training sessions.

She captioned the photo: "Pretending I’m wearing other clothes other then joggers for my ice skating sessions.

"Training day number 4 today and slowly getting the hang of it.

"Hope you’re all having a great week and sending lots of love."

Fans of the Reach singer commented below, excited to hear her updates and looking forward to seeing her on the show.

One said: "So exciting Rachel. Hope you are having a fab time doing the training x"

And a second wrote: "Sounds challenging," followed by a string of skate emojis.

While a third penned: "Ahh hope it’s going really well and not too chilly!"

This comes a few days after Rachel shared a behind-the-scenes clip with her Instagram followers as she first began her training.

The Don't Stop Movin star took to her account on the social media site to tease fans with a quick video posted to her story.

Rachel, 43, uploaded the clip – showing her training gear on a chair as she excitedly teased her role.

The video showed a black hard hat and pads alongside a backpack with a label attached with her name written on it.

The excited singer captioned the post "got my kit" adding praising hands emojis to complete her upload.

Rachel was revealed as a contestant on the new series of Dancing On Ice last week and spoke about her excitement at the challenge on This Morning.

Talking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby Rachel said: “It now feels really real, this is really happening. I’m so excited, obviously really nervous. It's one of those things, until you do it you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Asked whether she had skated before she added: “Only with the penguin with my kids you know every Christmas.

"I did it when I was 10 (years old) and dabbled in it for a little bit and I really loved it but I’m very wobbly.”

Dancing on Ice is expected to return early 2022
