Dan Walker usually co-presents BBC Breakfast from Monday to Wednesday each week. Since Louise Minchin’s departure from the programme, Sally Nugent has stepped in to host the show along with Dan. Colleagues Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty usually present the breakfast show on Thursdays and Fridays but on Wednesday, Dan was absent from the red sofa and was replaced by Charlie instead.

This isn’t the first time this week Dan has been absent from the sofa as Jon Kay stepped in on Tuesday.

However, Dan was still involved with Tuesday’s show as he interviewed Boris Johnson at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester.

The dad-of-three was absent from the conference on Wednesday as he was replaced by political correspondent, Adam Fleming.

It is unclear why Dan was missing from BBC Breakfast on Wednesday, although, it could be because of Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.

On Monday’s instalment, the presenter admitted he had only managed 17 hours of training for Strictly the previous week due to work commitments.
