Corrie's Yasmeen is freed as she is found not guilty — and she reports Geoff

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) was freed from captivity in Coronation Street tonight (December 7), as the court found her not guilty.

The final day of court proceedings commenced, and Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) took great delight in revealing that he had obtained the CCTV footage from the hospital.

Viewers will know that Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) previously told the jury how Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) had visited her in the hospital in an effort to intimidate her into dropping out as a witness.

Imran played the footage, and proceeded to question Geoff about it.

Naturally, the abuser lied, and claimed the man in the footage wasn’t him, but Imran cleverly unveiled another picture — one of Geoff’s car in a carpark near the hospital.

Before long, Geoff revealed his true colours on the stand, and as the jury returned, they revealed that Yasmeen had been found not guilty.

Yasmeen was left in shock, and Geoff seethed.

As Yasmeen exited the court, Geoff tried to persuade her into coming home with him, but she held her ground, and Alya (Sair Khan) warned him to leave her alone.

Desperate to be free of him, Yasmeen reported Geoff to the police.

Will justice finally be served?

Coronation Street continues Wednesday December 9 at 7pm on ITV.
