Corrie fans think Summer will be ‘coerced’ into ‘impregnation’ in hostage twist

Coronation Street fans are convinced that Summer Spellman will be "coerced" into "impregnation" amid her new hostage storyline.

In recent weeks viewers have seen how Summer (portrayed by Harriet Bibbey) was pregnant with her boyfriend Aaron's baby.

The young academic, who had hopes of going to Oxford University agreed to sell her unborn child to religious couple – Mike and Esther.

Sadly Summer suffered a miscarriage and has now seemingly decided to carry their child anyway.

Summer's adoptive dad Billy turned up at Mike and Esther's house after not hearing from her for a few days, to find her in their house and revealing the startling surrogacy news.

When the scenes aired on Friday night (December 30), viewers at home were convinced that Summer's surrogacy won't be plain sailing.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer used the Corrie hashtag and penned: "Yes Summer, and to think you were going to Oxford!!! That baby nonsense will backfire spectacularly….it won't be a turkey baster…more like being coerced into sleeping with that vile Mike."

"This creepy couple look like they have Summer there trapped until she gives birth," penned a second.

On Reddit one person speculated: "I still think he will at least attempt to impregnate Summer 'the old-fashioned way'. But hopefully someone will rescue her before he gets to do the dirty deed."

While another added: "Summer’s current situation is a bit ‘modern slavery’ to me."

This comes after fans of the show speculated that the "creepy couple" might have people "tied up" in their basement.

"I bet Mike and Esther have people locked up in the basement," penned one after Thursday's episode aired (December 29).

While another added: "Esther and Mike are giving me red flags. I don't trust them at all."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
