Coronation Street’s Rebecca Ryan’s ‘ultimate dream’ is to work with her two star brothers

Coronation Street actress Rebecca Ryan has unveiled her plans to work with her two actor brothers in the future, saying a joint project would be the “ultimate dream.”

Rebecca, who is on screen as Weatherfield’s scheming Lydia Chambers, is currently starring alongside younger brother Jack James Ryan, who plays the Street’s Jacob Hay.

Meanwhile, she’s previously revealed that she got her big break thanks to her and Jack’s older brother Charlie, who is also an actor.

Now, speaking exclusively to OK! the 30 year old soap star says she hopes all three can join forces, and that she’s already been begging Jack to write something for them.

Rebecca, who has also appeared in the likes of Casualty and Waterloo Road, told us: “The ultimate dream is to work on something with both Charlie and Jack. I would absolutely love that.”

She continued: “I’m not a writer but I sometimes think, ‘Maybe I should try it and just see what happens.’”

While she isn’t ruling out writing a project for her siblings, Rebecca says their best bet is on Jack to put pen to paper.

Rebecca explained: “Jack has written his own play that he put on in London. It was called My Left Ball about his cancer experience that he went through, and it was incredible.”

She went on to say: “It was the first thing that he wrote and I realised, ‘You’re really amazing.’”

“Now, I keep saying to him, ‘Come on, Jack, you need to write something for me, Charlie and you,’ so you never know.”

Further lifting the lid on the siblings’ close relationship, Rebecca described her brothers as her “best friends” and insisted there is no rivalry between them whatsoever.

She revealed: “All three of us are really close. We have a great, close friendship – we’re all best friends really.”

She continued: “We talk every day, we hang out all the time. We really are best friends.”

“We’re also really supportive of each other, it’s so nice. We wish the best for each other and our careers.”

And Rebecca joked that their mum is their biggest fan, having encouraged all three of her children to follow in one another's footsteps after seeing their talent.

The actress said: “She’s been there for us since day one and supported whatever we wanted to do.”

“I suppose it’s not ideal with three of us wanting to be actors – I bet she was thinking, ‘Can you not get a nice, stable job where you know you’re going to be working?!’”

“But she’s so supportive and she’s always believed in us and let us follow our dreams. She’s been absolutely incredible.”
