Coronation Street icon Jennie McAlpine says she was gutted when she discovered that Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) was going to tell Fiz Stape that he's developed feelings for Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu).
Fan-favourite Fiz is left absolutely heartbroken in upcoming scenes as Tyrone admits to her that he's grown close with the young factory worker.
Tyrone's shocking bombshell will no doubt divide viewers, as his feelings for Alina threatens to tear apart one of Weatherfield's most long-standing couples.
Opening up about her reaction to the shocking storyline, Jennie, 37, told Daily Star and other press: "I was gutted initially because it's a big deal to not potentially have scenes with Alan [Halsall] again.
"But it's a real privilege to be given these scenes to do.
"I love being in the that house and I love working with Alan.
"I also love shouting at Alan and quite a lot of scenes coming up are that."
The former I'm A Celebrity contestant went on to joke that despite being in one in the wrong, Tyrone will still receive more support from the public than her character.
The former I'm A Celebrity contestant laughed: "It's the same reaction Tyrone gets with every storyline he's ever done, even when he's in the wrong.
"He will be in the right and I will be in the wrong. He comes up smelling of roses no matter that he does."
Tyrone and Alina have become friends over recent months, but their relationship is set to change as feelings blossom.
Alina realises she has fallen for Tyrone when they fix her car together in the garage, and she tearfully confesses her feelings for him.
Throwing a spanner in the works, Fiz plans to propose to Tyrone, organising a surprise Greek wedding with the help of Chesney Brown (Sam Aston).
When Fiz suggests they could just get married, Tyrone slaps the idea down.
"She thinks they've not got married because they've not got round to it and she's shocked when he says he's not keen on the idea," Jennie explains.
"He just wants an easy life so Fiz just thinks she can put it on the credit card and Tyrone can just turn up."
Alina has been living with Fiz and Tyrone and Jennie has revealed that Fiz is stunned when she discovers that the pair have grown close.
The soap star said: "She's joked that Tyrone's got a crush on Alina and Fiz is fine with that and she laughs about it.
"Fiz even laughs with his nan Evelyn that he fancies the fit girl that's been living with them and that's fine.
"But then there is a moment where he says it's more then that and Fiz realises that Tyrone was wanting to be with someone else."
Jennie went on to discuss the aftermath of the bombshell.
She said: "Fiz suggests that Tyrone is having a middle life crisis and he should take up cycling.
"Tyrone tells Fiz that he didn't really mean what he said and Fix tells him that she won't say anything.
"She then literally goes out of the front door sees Alina coming out of the corner shop and says 'oh you, come here'.

Discussing the upcoming showdown between the love rivals, Jennie teased: "Fiz and Alina go to Roy's Rolls because Fiz feels comfy there and they have a chat about it. Well I say chat but it's more of a threatening monologue from Fiz.
"She thinks she may have frightened her off a bit and Alina does run away in tears.
"It's all pretty humiliating for Fiz. That's how she feels. So I feel I would feel sorry for Fix in this scenario."
