Eileen battles to keep her son safe
Fearing for his life as criminal Mick Costello hunts him down, Todd begs mum Eileen to identify the body in the morgue as his own, faking his own death.
Eileen is conflicted, but once she arrives at the mortuary, she is gripped by the realisation she cannot deprive another family of a funeral.
Todd is furious when he learns she has backed out of his sordid plan, and threatens to leave Weatherfield forever as the bounty remains on his head.
Meanwhile, Eileen tells lodger and best pal Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) her son has returned, making it clear she is devastated by the prospect of losing him again.
Cooking up a plan, Mary seeks help from undertaker George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), who warns her Mick has a reputation for danger before seeking help from one of his mysterious friends.
Later, Eileen tells Todd she has pulled enough cash together – £1300 – to help pay off Mick and finally put the past behind him.
Is it enough to free Todd from a life of crime?
The Grimshaws are held at gunpoint
When she steps out the front door of number 11, Eileen is horrified to see Mary's scheme in action, having staged an elaborate funeral for Todd, complete with a coffin and a decorative floral arrangement.
The dreaded Mick arrives on the scene just as Eileen is forced to make a decision – will she pretend her son has died?
Later, Todd sneaks into the house to hunt down Eileen's cash, only to hear Mick break into the building downstairs.
When Mick hears floorboards creaking and realises Todd is in hiding, he holds Eileen at gunpoint, plunging her life in danger.
With his finger resting on the trigger, Mick reveals he was her son's former lover, only to have his money stolen and his heart broken by Todd.
Will Eileen make it out of number 11 alive, or has Todd put his mother's life on the line?
Johnny is blackmailed by his old friend
Trying to rid Scott from his life for good, Johnny ruins his chances of getting a building job with Ray, and tells the sleazy businessman about Scott's criminal past.
Later, Scott confides in Johnny he plans to swindle Ray and asks his former friend whether he would like to collaborate on the dodgy deal.
Johnny downright refuses, but when Ray reveals he knows everything about Scott's stint in prison, he sees red and issues a serious threat.
Letting Johnny know he owes him big time, Scott forces him to meet to discuss a plan, insisting he will tell Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) the truth about their shared history if he refuses.
During the meet-up, Scott orders Johnny to drive the getaway car as he tries to make it to the big time with the thieving scheme.
Later, Johnny tries to avoid Scott, pretending he is at an event in a brewery, only for his nemesis to threaten to spill the beans to Jenny.
Can Johnny escape Scott's criminal demands, or will his dark threats triumph?
Gary suffers an unprovoked attack
With plans to buy the barbers from Audrey Roberts ( Sue Nicholls) in the works, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) is horrified to learn Gary has been hiding an enormous credit card bill from her, his financial situation in the dumps.
When Gary tells Fiz Brown (Jenny McAlpine) he is cutting down on her hours, Ray eavesdrops nearby, and offers to buy the factory from him in a sleazy business deal.
Gary instantly refuses, but Maria begs him to consider Ray's offer, realising the funds would help her to make the barbershop her own.
Later, Gary learns Ray has bought the furniture shop from Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), and has offered David a whopping sum for their house after a sinkhole ravaged the garden.
Meeting Ray at the bistro, Gary offers him the sale of the factory, but only if he will double his official bidding price.
When Ray takes too long to come to a decision, Gary tells him the offer is off the table, only for the entrepreneur to produce a hefty £400,000 bid – with Maria begging Gary to accept.
Will Gary go against his instincts and sell the factory to Ray, or will he see-through his shady dealings?
Later, Gary gets caught up in Todd's dodgy past, as criminal Mick arrives on the scene and beats him up, mistaking him for one of Todd's cronies.
Maria finds her husband broken and bleeding on the floor of the furniture shop, and begs him to tell the police everything.
David rejects Shona's advances
When David catches Shona accidentally taking Max's medicine, mistaking it for her own, he is devastated, realising he needs to monitor her full-time.
Later, when Shona turns up to a party in the house with a group of strangers she met in the caff, she is confused when David cancels the bash completely.
Making matters worse, the next day, David is forced to take Shona to work with him after Aaron cancels his visit, leaving her to unintentionally stir trouble.
When a hunky male model named Hugo gets on Shona's bad side, she gets her own back by snipping off his man bun before David can intervene.
That evening, she asks David to share her bed, but concerned they are moving too quickly, he lets her down gently.
Shona is devastated by the rejection, and hurls her dinner plate at the wall before storming out of the house, sick of David's belittling behaviour.
Can Shona and David patch things up, or is their marriage on the decline?
Arthur keeps a secret from Evelyn
With a scenic trip to the Lakes in the works, a nervous Evelyn lays down some rules for her sleeping arrangements with Arthur, insisting they take separate beds.
Unfortunately, Arthur suddenly receives a mysterious phone call and their trip is postponed, leaving Evelyn waiting.

Later, Evelyn has a change of heart and tells Arthur, if he will give her another chance, he can ditch his inflatable mattress and share her bed, taking their relationship to the next level.
After their conversation, Arthur slips off to the hospital, keeping the health check a secret from Evelyn.
When the lovebirds plan a camping trip to Norfolk, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) refuses to give Evelyn the holiday time, only for her to quit her job altogether.
Though Dev is furious over her sudden departure, Arthur is impressed, smitten by the wise-cracking Evelyn's sense of spirit.
As Evelyn and Arthur take their relationship further, is he keeping a secret health condition to himself?
