Casualty star Harry Collett confirms he is returning to the show as Oliver Hide

The latest Casualty trailer revealed there was plenty of drama in store for the ED team in 2021, and Harry Collett, who plays Nurse David Hide’s (Jason Durr) son Oliver, has confirmed he is returning.

Ollie was last seen in Casualty in 2019 and, taking to Instagram to announce his comeback in a Q&A, Harry said: ‘For everyone asking, YES. I am returning to Casualty this season. See you at Holby.’

As David lives with bipolar, Ollie has impacted the way he lives his life in a number of different ways, and when he was a regular in the show in 2016-2017, he was involved in a huge storyline that saw David experience a psychotic episode which resulted in him getting sectioned.

Casualty returned to our screens last Saturday (January 2) with a moving and emotional episode that looked at how the ED team dealt with the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic. After a hugely intense watch, the episode saw beloved receptionist Noel Garcia (Tony Marshall) die from the virus.

Harry has gone onto to star in some huge projects. He has appeared in the film Dunkirk and recently starred alongside Robert Downey Jr in Dolittle.

Harry is not the only one set to make a return, as a recent festive video revealed that Michael Stevenson who plays Paramedic Iain Dean will also be making his way back to Holby ED this year.
