Billie Eilish’s mum Maggie Baird starred in Friends more than 20 years ago

Billie Eilish's mum Maggie Baird starred in Friends – and even turned down Joey Tribbiani.

It has been discovered that she was in the hit show and also appeared in other top American programmes.

Fans were quick to put the clip online after finding out her mum broke Joey's heart as he chased a career boost.

Maggie made an appearance in season 6 episode The One Where Joey Loses His Insurance.

She plays a hard-to-please casting director as actor Joey, played by Matt Le Blanc in the legendary show, auditions for her.

In the 1999 episode, struggling Joey lost out on the role as he suffering from a hernia.

He needed the job to pay for medical care after previously losing his healthcare insurance.

Poor Joey was rejected by her because he couldn't lift a bag of dog food due to his painful injury

The Italian suggests: "Or I could just point to it? Blah, blah, blah Purina. Point to a bag today."

Joey got the boot and didn't land the part.

Talent clearly runs in the family and it is clear where Billie got her stage presence from.

It was just one of many big shows Maggie has appeared in after joining Curb Your Enthusiasm, The X-Files, The West Wing and Six Feet Under.

Billie's dad Patrick O'Connell is also an actor.

Like his wife, he appeared in The West Wing and can be seen in Supergirl and Iron Man.

The singing star has yet to say if she will go into acting in the years ahead.

But she is known to be a big fan of US hit The Office.

Billie first gained attention in 2015 when she uploaded the song "Ocean Eyes" to SoundCloud.
