BBC boss confirmed there's "more to come" after epic series finale of hit reality show The Traitors aired.

The BBC One series had fans on tenterhooks with its nail-biting finale – but is another season already in the works?


Viewers saw Hannah, Aaron and Meryl successfully win the show after knocking out the two remaining traitors – Wilf and Kieran.

As winners, Aaron, Meryl and Hannah each took home a slice of the whopping £101,050.

After the season finale aired, BBC executive producer Syeda Irtizaali teased there is more to come.

She tweeted: "And that's a wrap. Best ever cast, best crew, best ending. Hope you loved S1. More to come! Thanks all for loving it as much as we did."

Fans are begging the BBC to do another season of The Traitors after getting hooked on the first season and watching the epic finale.

Taking to Twitter, one said: "#TheTraitors best show on TV! Hurry up season 2, please can there be a reunion show!"

Another wrote: "#TheTraitors has been our favourite show of the last few years. Incredible. Really hoping there’s a season 2."

A third penned: "Omg the last episode of #TheTraitors was amazingggg!! Need season 2 quickkkk!!!"

A fourth commented: "Have loved every second! What a perfect end! Bring on season 2!"

The competition series started filming in the Scottish Highlands in May.

The intense psychological game in which players have to complete tasks while working out who they can trust.

These tasks were spectacular physical and mental missions and a chance to add money to the prize pot.

There were rumours that the BBC were already teeing up a sequel before the first series even aired.

A TV insider said: “Rumours are Beeb bosses are so impressed with the finished product they’ve already got wheels in motion with the production company.

“And host Claudia has also been blown away by the experience of making the 12-parter, so is likely to return to front the new season too.

“It’s unusual for executives to be so excited by a programme that they take this step. It’s certainly a vote of confidence in the format.”

The format is based on the Dutch version of the show which Claudia said she: “Couldn’t stop watching.”

She added: “The fact that the BBC version is set in a castle in Scotland and the producers want me to wear tweed meant I was all in.”
