Tom Cruise looks almost unrecognisable in social media snaps taken at a recent baseball match.
The 59-year-old star was enjoying some well deserved family time with his son Connor Cruise, 26, while taking a break from Mission Impossible filming.
It wasn't long before pictures and videos of Tom smiling at the San Francisco Giants Vs the Los Angeles Dodgers appeared online – with many commenting that he looked unrecognisable in the snap.
While folks could pinpoint the War Of The Worlds star, they'd also remarked that he seemed like a new man as he boasted a "fuller" face.
Some internet users were concerned for Tom and even wondered if he'd suffered an allergic reaction.
One comment read: "Tom Cruise has either gained weight, or he has a face full of fillers. I'm going with the fillers."
Another quizzed: "What has Tom Cruise done to his face?"
A third added: "What's up with the bloated chipmunk cheeks?"
"What the hell is going on with his face?? Is he having an allergic reaction?" asked a fourth.
Meanwhile, others did lunge in to defend the actor who does all of his own Mission Impossible stunts.
"Tom Cruise putting some weight on in his face because he's prob not filming a movie requiring him to be in not-human shape and getting memed all over for it feels awfully yucky to me," argued one.
"Listen I don't like tom cruise at all (AT ALL), but i'm seriously sick of twitter trashing people for their weight fluctuations.
"People are allowed to gain and lose weight, and it's really nunya!!! stop being fatphobic," barked another.
Several other online users were convinced that the man in the stands was not Tom but an impersonator who had been posing as the Jerry Maguire actor.
Earlier this month it was revealed that Tom is learning to fly a World War Two military plane for his latest instalment of the movie series, Mission: Impossible.
The action star has been spotted at Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire where he is believed to be undergoing training to fly the 1943 Boeing Stearman Model 75.
It is understood that there will be a wartime chase in the new sequel, with the fighter-jet-pilot Maverick from Top Gun actually taking to the helm.
