Declan Donnelly has roped in the help of a repair worker after his home was targeted by intruders on Tuesday night.
The Britain’s Got Talent star was believed to have been ‘left shaken’ after professional thieves tried to break into his Chiswick home while he and his family slept.
Thankfully, Dec’s wife Ali and their daughter Isla, 2, remained safe as the burglars failed to gain access into their £5m family home.
According to The Mirror, the intruders quickly sped away from the scene before police arrived.
Forensic squads were dispatched to the leafy location to sweep the area for evidence while police investigate.
CCTV from the family home and their neighbours has been taken for further analysis.
Declan has now made an extra effort to keep his family safe as he’s hired a repair worker to amend the gates and locks which surround his West London home.
The worker was pictured outside Dec’s home during the early hours Wednesday morning, just hours after the intruders were there.
It comes just hours after the Met Police released a detailed statement about the incident.
"Police were called at approximately 00:40hrs to reports of an attempted burglary at a residential property.
“Officers attended. The suspects had left the scene prior to police arrival. There was no evidence that they had gained access to the property.
"Inquiries are ongoing. At this early stage, there have been no arrests."
It's believed Dec and his wife Ali were unaware of the attempted raid until the following morning.
A source told The Sun: "The robbers couldn’t force the gates open and that’s what made them give up and flee.
"Dec and Ali weren’t disturbed. The first they realised anything was amiss was in the morning."
The celebrity couple have lived in their lavish family home since they splashed out £1.9million on the property in 2006.
