Honey Boo Boo unrecognisable as she poses for high school photos in cap and gown

Reality TV star Alana Thompson, also known as Honey Boo Boo, looked unrecognisable as she posed for photographs at the start of her final year of high school.

The former child star of Toddlers and Tiaras rose to fame at the age of six years old, before landing her own TV show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

The now teenage Alana recently posed for a series of sweet snaps in a yellow cap and gown, as she entered her senior year at Wilkinson County High School in McIntyre, Georgia.

Her sister Lauryn Shannon, also known as Pumpkin, shared the snaps on her Instagram account – which showed the proud student taking part in a photoshoot for the high school year book.

Other photographs showed Alana holding Lauryn's daughter Bentley, while another showed the siblings together smiling for the camera.

Another snap also showed Alana looking beautiful as she posed for her senior yearbook photograph, wearing a black jumper and skirt, paired with white sneakers and smoky eye make-up.

Following the photoshoot, Lauryn paid tribute to her little sister, captioning the series of photographs: "Today my not so little sister had senior pictures done.

"I'm so proud of how far you've come against all odds that have been thrown at you.

"Here to Alana's last year of high school. Excuse me while I ugly cry lol. We love our Lana @honeybooboo."

However, the photographs did not show any appearances from Alana's mother, Mama June.

It is reported that sister Lauryn was granted sole custody of Alana in June 2022, but that Mama June is still allowed to call her daughter daily.

Speaking to Page Six, Mama June said: "I'm very thankful for her because the situation could have been a lot different.

"Pumpkin stepping up, I'm very grateful because it could have turned into a bad situation. At the time Alana went to go live with Pumpkin at the beginning, I couldn't even take care of my own self — more or less take care of anybody else."

Alana has also previously revealed that she does not know whether her mother would attend her graduation ceremony in 2023 if she asked her, saying on the TV show Mama June: Road To Redemption: "I'm kind of over it at this point.

"I think I'm at the age where I'm not like sitting there like, oh I just wish my mommy was coming home. Like Mama is gonna do what Mama is going to do."
