The late 80s pop singer George Michael reportedly bedded the world’s most famous female model at the peak of his Wham! fame before he came out, his best friend has revealed.

Childhood friend Andros Georgiou, 59, added that he didn’t want to name the celeb.

But he went on to say: "Sometimes George got with women too.

"In the early days he was bisexual. I can’t name her but he slept with the top model in the world."

George – who died on Christmas Day in 2016 aged just 53 – was pals with the 1990s set of supermodels that included Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.

Kate, 47, was his neighbour in north London and said he let her and her daughter Lila Grace, 19, jump over his fence to use his swimming pool.

George also persuaded supermodels Naomi, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford to feature in his 1990 music video for his Freedom! hit single.

They have recalled how the shoot was sexy and booze-fuelled and stretched into the early hours of the morning.

Linda, 56, said: "We were a bit naughty off set though as the day went on into late night. For most of the 16-plus hour day, Christy was with us – but better behaved than me and George.

"There was plenty of red wine. We became close friends from then on and would see one another wherever we could."

There is no suggestion Kate or the models who starred in Freedom! were the supermodel referred to by Andros.

George confirmed he did sleep with women before he met his first serious boyfriend, Brazilian designer Anselmo Feleppa.

Andros also went on to say that he believes that George would not have died if his first love, Anselmo, had not died first from AIDS.

Andros told the Mirror: "George was the love of his life and if he hadn’t died I think George would still be here.

"After Anselmo, he didn’t find real love, he had a lot of sex and met lots of people but he never found what he had with Anselmo. I saw how happy they were. I think he was quite lost after Anselmo died, it hit him hard."
