Britney Spears doc airs fresh concerns for her health after ‘strange’ posts

A new Britney Spears documentary has raised fresh concerns for the singer's mental health following her "bizarre" posts on social media.

The 41-year-old pop titan managed to break free from her 13-year-long conservatorship last November, which had allowed her dad Jamie Spears to take control of many aspects of her finances and personal life.

But the superstar has sparked worries for her welfare with her piles of Instagram posts over the last year which include shocking rants about her family and nude snaps.

These Britney concerns are addressed in the new docuseries Jamie Vs Britney: The Father-Daughter Trials airing to Discovery+.

The start of the first episode reveals a statement which reads: "Britney’s Instagram posts have fuelled concerns for her mental health," as well as a montage of strange clips posted by Britney.

Julianne Kaye, Britney's former make-up artist, said: "Some of the things she says on her Instagram, it’s so bizarre."

She also claimed that Spears has never been the same since her public breakdown in 2008.

Kaye added: "Hasn’t been Britney for 13 or 14 years. Ever since the breakdown. It’s like lights are on but nobody’s home."

Steve Dennis – Britney’s biographer “Should she be behaving this way, should she be doing this?”

Professor Jennifer Otter Bickerdike, a former music industry executive, claimed Britney isn't really seeing a therapist so might be using the posts as a way to exercise the demons from her past – perhaps from her time under her dad's control.

She said: "Since she’s not really seeing a therapist you could say she’s getting some of those demons out via Instagram, but there are things on there that you’re like ‘Ooh that’s questionable.’"

Guests in the documentary included former X Factor judge Louis Walsh, who opened up about Britney's 2012 stint on the ITV talent show.

Louis said Britney seemed spaced out on the judging panel and that her team would often take her out of the room during auditions.

He said: "Every five or so auditions her energy levels would go down, so they'd have to take her out and we'd wait for Britney.

"When I hear now all the stories that Britney has said about her team and giving her medication," Walsh went on, "I'm thinking that's why she was so strange or odd. It's crazy. Andd she wasn't in control of this. It was like she was robotic or something."
